Healthy Strategies In Today’s World Of Dating

A good friend of mine met this guy on Facebook, and she willingly accepted his request. He then messaged her, and ultimately they started chatting. A few days in, this guy supposedly catches feelings and conveys that he’s madly in love with her. Now how is this even humanly possible? Here’s the gag: they had only been texting, with no voice contact or in-person meetup. He claimed he could only communicate via text because he’s on special assignment somewhere and couldn’t be on his phone. Does this raise any suspicions?

I know there are many single people out here that long for companionship. Dating has undoubtedly shifted into a whole new direction. The thing to always be mindful of is the game playing, and knowing what to look for so you don’t become a target to an opportunist.

1. If the person only wants to text and not actually talk or video chat, then make your exit without delay. Connecting via voice or video is vital so you can feel a person out. A text can’t authenticate a mood or vibe.

2. If the person starts moving too fast confessing endearing words, then most likely it’s not the truth. This could be a manipulative characteristic of someone hiding behind a seemingly charming persona.

3. If your instincts sense that something is amiss, don’t ignore it or be persuaded to let it pass.

With Valentine's Day near, there are some romantic individuals desiring love, affection, and the like. I can certainly relate but be sensible when it comes to matters of the heart, mind, body and soul. Please ensure that these things are protected, and also your human psyche in general. Be encouraged to have fun and be safe in your search for love.
