Why It Is Important To Incorporate Self Love Into Your Daily Routine
Self Love ( The Introduction)
Self-love is a beautiful thing and something every woman should practice. As a woman, we deal with daily things from work, family, friends, self-esteem, and how society treats us. Overall it's a lot and can affect us as human beings and throw women off balance.
Growing up, I didn't know what self-love was, nor was it talked about, but as someone who incorporates self-love into their daily routine, I wanted to pass this knowledge to other fellow women. It might seem like nothing at first, or you may ask yourself how can I incorporate this in my day-to-day schedule and how does it help me or benefit me?
Self-love can be anything from pampering yourself to fixing your favorite dish for dinner. Self-love is all about you and how you can love and take care of yourself.
How can I incorporate self love into my daily schedule
The good thing about this is; it's not a vast daunting task that's going to take up majority of your day or something you're going to have to squeeze into your schedule. Practicing self-love as a black woman and incorporating it into your daily routine can be done on your own time.
Different ways to practice self-love
There are many different ways that you can practice self-love. Here are a few examples.
- Stop comparing yourself to others
- Know that you're different, and that's fine, and there is nothing wrong with that.
- Start adding positive reactions and speaking positively.
- Surround yourself with positive energy and positive people
- Celebrate those wins no matter how big or small. A win is a win and should be celebrated.
- Take some time out to clear your mind, body, and soul. Give yourself that time to detox.
- Find something or think of something that you are grateful for every day. Write them down so you can look back on those things.
- Forgive yourself. This is a big one. Don't beat yourself up over things that you can't control.
How Does This Help?
It may seem like a small task, and you may ask yourself how will this help, but with consistency you will notice a difference. When I started to incorporate this into my daily schedule, I started to see the negative things that I did and said. How much I would talk down on myself, comparing myself to others, and many other things. Once I acknowledged these things, I wrote down things I loved about myself and spoke more positively about life.
These are just a few things; there are many other ways that you can practice self-love. Implementing these into your schedule can open your eyes to many things you have been mentally blocking out.
This can make you aware of other things you may be blocking out or don't want to discuss. Self-love is self-care. It’s like brushing your teeth, cleaning, cooking, just another form of taking care of yourself. Remember to take care of yourself, love yourself in the process, and put your health and self-love at the top of the list.
